Musée d’Art Classique de Mougins opens its doors

The Musée d'Art Classique de Mougins opens today, 3 June, in the picturesque village of Mougins in the South of France.

The museum holds an exceptional collection of over 700 works of ancient, neoclassical, modern and contemporary art.

The Musée d'Art Classique, or MACM, was founded by Christian Levett, a British businessman and avid art collector. In 2008, Levett decided to establish a museum in Mougins, where he has a house, to exhibit part of his collection and share it with the public. The museum’s director is Mark Merrony, who holds a PhD in Classical Archaeology from the University of Oxford. Mark is Editor-in-Chief of Minerva, the International Review of Ancient Art and Archaeology.
