Gabriele Pezzini

designer-thinker, consultant for Hermès, France/Italy

Gabriele Pezzini is a designer-thinker based in Paris. Design director for Hermès until 2010, he is a consultant for design and innovation for Hermès and other firms. He is an expert in product and project theory and recently published the book Meteorite: looking far, watching closely, focusing on the project process. Previously, Gabriele Pezzini’s artistic training led him to co-found the MADE gallery in Florence. His goal was to match artistic value to industry production, later driving him to become design manager for the French company Allibert. Returning to Milan, he began focusing on research-based projects which led him to co-found and manage the company virtuallydesign.com. He spent many years presenting research exhibitions, his most recent being A Manifesto Exhibition, conceived with Enzo Mari. Gabriele Pezzini will be judging excellent creativity in Museums as a jury member of the 2012 International Design & Communication Awards (IDCA)
