Communicating the museum: Editorial

WELCOME TO CTM16 Berlin

More than any other city in Europe, Berlin is the symbol of rebirth, creative freedom, energy and diversity. Since the collapse of the Wall in 1989, the young German capital has been reintroduced to the world as a completely reinvented destination buzzing with many artistic and business opportunities. It is a city which always seems to be reinventing itself. One can feel the amazing dialogue between the city’s reality, the social purpose of artistic interventions and stunning architecture. It is a land of experimentation.

When Barbara Wolf proposed us to host the conference at the Stiftung Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin, just across the Pergamonmuseum and the new Berlin City Palace, we just couldn't resist.

There is so much happening in Berlin's art scene and still a lot to be discovered. Berlin's museums are extremely focused and positive about the future mostly because they have a fearless ambition to create and innovate. Together with them, we will build a striking Communicating the Museum conference. It is always an adventure to start a new conference and it is the right time to come to Berlin.
