About CTM
Connecting the art world
Communicating the Museum is the world’s leading arts communications conference. Each year we gather communications professionals from over 2,500 arts organisations from 40 countries worldwide in a new cultural city. Over 3 days we organise inspiring keynote speeches, engaging panel discussions and thought-provoking learning sessions, addressing the latest trends and issues facing the world museums and the wider communications industry.
An unparalleled networking opportunity
CTM offers the chance to network and learn from experts from industries outside of the museum world, such as technology, business, branding and corporate communications. We always plan an exciting fringe programme of cultural trips and excursions, evening cocktails and dinners.
The CTM story
Communicating the Museum was founded in 2000 by Corinne Estrada, CEO of communications agency Agenda, alongside the V&A's Damien Whitmore, at the time Director of Communications at Tate. Their vision was to bring together arts and communications professionals from all over the world and provide a platform for networking and debate. The event is widely recognised as a rare opportunity for peers from across the globe to meet, exchange ideas, be inspired by experts from outside industries and be updated on current issues and trends.

Testimonials
The (CTM14) conference was an incredible experience and I have returned to work inspired and full of ideas.

"This year's conference was simply superb. Good sessions...good discussions...good presentations....and a good mix of colleagues."
John Giurini, Assistant Director, Public Affairs, J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles
"Exchanging thoughts in a treasure castle (the Met) about how museums can bring down their walls is magic. It blew my mind. Seriously!"
Justus Bruns, Founder, Times Square Art Square Foundation, Netherlands/ New York
"One of the highlights of attending the CTM conference is being inspired by speakers from outside the sector together with the opportunity to meet and share experiences with a wide range of contacts from museum and galleries across the world."
Denise Vogelsang, Head of Marketing, National Portrait Gallery, London
"The CTM conference arranged by Agenda gives me a great opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world. The topics are inspiring and the speakers of world class. If I have to pick one event/conference to go to during the year, CTM by Agenda is that conference for me."
Paula Röhss, Director of Information, Marketing and Sales, Nationalmuseum, Stockholm
"I returned to the Akron Art Museum inspired and invigorated and equipped to be an even better museum communicator. The calibre of programming was impressive and the topics enlightening. In those couple days I was exposed to so many exciting ideas, I only hope I have the time and the resources to implement all that I'd like. Everyone from the Agenda staff to the presenters and delegates was incredibly knowledgeable, charming and gracious. I came knowing only a few US delegates but left knowing many from all over the globe. This was a wonderful, stimulating learning experience."
Elizabeth Wilson, Director of Marketing Communication, Akron Art Museum
"I have been attending Communicating the Museum for several years now and it has always been very inspiring. While it was a great pleasure for us to host the conference in 2011 and to introduce Museum Kunstpalast to museum professionals around the world, I am looking forward to many more conferences that give the opportunity to get to know other museums and most importantly to discuss the latest developments in museum marketing."
Barbara Wiench, Head of Marketing, Sponsoring and Private Contributions, Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf
