Savour Jersey's finest produce
Gastronomes take note - the Jersey Food Festival returns on 19 – 27 May this year.
Come and savour Jersey's finest dairy, fresh seafood and its eponymous potatoes, the Jersey Royal - the only vegetable in the UK to be granted PDO status (Protected Designated Origin). Seasonality, variety and quality local produce will be the themes of the festival. Among the various events and activities, visitors can enjoy:
- Guided tours of Jersey Royal potato producers
- Visits to a turbot farm housed in an old 2nd world war bunker
- ‘Fish Market at the Café Bar’ – a pop-up fish café at the Hotel de la Pomme d'Or, where you can taste the catch of the day
- Low-tide promenades of the island's oyster bays, or coastal walks followed by lunch at a local restaurant
- A picnic of cider and home-made sausages in the fields of The Elms – an 18th century farm
- A banquet at 16 New Street, a newly restored Georgian house, served by waiters in period costume
