Splendors of Romanesque Art
On 10 February, Fundación Mapfre in Madrid will unveil Splendors of Romanesque Art, an exhibition showcasing 59 works addressing major themes and techniques of the artistic period.
The masterpieces on show belong to the MNAC (Catalunya National Museum of Art, Barcelona). The MNAC holds the most important collection of Romanesque art in Europe.
The exhibition will open in the gallery spaces at Paseo de Recoletos, the Spanish capital’s famous art trail.
This is the first and probably only time that people will be able to view these works in Madrid.
The exhibition runs until 15 May.
