Düsseldorf’s Museum Kunspalast comes to Paris

On the evening of 20 September, the Residence of the German Ambassador in Paris, Hôtel Beauharnais, hosted an evening in honour of Düsseldorf’s Museum Kunstpalast.

The Düsseldorf museum reopened its doors earlier this year after a major redevelopment programme. Its rich permanent collection ranges from Renaissance to contemporary art. Upcoming exhibitions include World Class, the Düsseldorf School of Painting (24 September 2011 to 22 January 2012) and El Greco and Modernism (opening 28 April 2012). Next year the Museum Kunstpalast is collaborating with the Musée d'Orsay to present Akseli Gallen-Kallela, A passion for Finland, opening 7 February 2012 in Paris.

During the evening speeches were given by Reinhard Schäfers, Ambassador of Germany in France and Beat Wismer, Director of the Museum Kunstpalast. Franck Gervais, CEO of Thalys International, came to present the train company’s direct Paris-Düsseldorf route, which is soon to open.
