Interview with the CNA's Jean Back in The Art Newspaper

At the end of this month Luxembourg will see the launch of a brand new platform for photography.

On 29 September, Le Centre National de l'audiovisuel (CNA) will open Waassertuerm and Pomhouse, two photography galleries housed in the unusual location of a former steel plant.

The water tower (Waassertuerm) and its adjacent pumping station (Pomhouse) have been transformed into purpose-built photography spaces. The water tower will be home to Luxembourg's renowned collection of photographs first shown at MoMA by Edward Steichen, the "Luxembourg boy" who never forgot his roots. The pumping station will be dedicated to  contemporary photography, beginning with a site-specific commission by British artist Stephen Gill.
