Impressionism: a Modern Renaissance is a new exhibition in Madrid, shedding light on lesser known components of Impressionism and other artistic movements of the era.

Themes covered include the battle between Old and New at the Salons, Hispanism in Paris, Realism and women artists.

This exhibition is jointly curated by the Musée D'Orsay and Fundación Mapfre, on the occasion of the temporary closure of the Musée d'Orsay’s Impressionist galleries.
