Fundación Mapfre brings Mexican photography to Arles
During the prestigious Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie d'Arles, Fundación Mapfre will present works by Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide from 4 July to 18 September 2011.Graciale Iturbide was born in 1942 and lives and works in Mexico. Winner of the Hasselblad Award, she is one of Mexico's most remarkable photographers.
Fundación Mapfre is one of the premier art foundations in Europe. The Institution has realised a significant programme of activities in Spain and Latin America, consolidating its dedication to international development. As part of its cultural mission, the Fundación Mapfre promotes up-and-coming photographers who have not yet had a major monographic exhibition.
This show will be the most important and complete one on the work of Graciela Iturbide.
