Saturday 8 November: CONTEMPORARY SYDNEY
Sydney Harbour cultural cruise on HMB Endeavour
The Australian National Maritime Museum’s magnificent full-scale reproduction of Captain Cook's famous tall ship will host two unforgettable cultural cruises on Sydney Harbour. Conference delegates will have the rare opportunity to explore the sites, history and wonder of Sydney Harbour with a specially curated guided tour of Australia’s most famous waterway on board the historic HMB Endeavour.
On board you will have the chance to hear both an Indigenous and European perspective of the harbour. The European point of view will be presented by the Australian National Maritime Museum’s Research Manager Dr Nigel Erskine.
The route will take in famous points of interest such as Darling Harbour, Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Garden Island, Clark Island and Shark Island. This cruise promises to be an exciting, hands-on and adventurous and component of the Communicating the Museum conference.
