Sydney Farewell Party at the Australian National Maritime Museum

The Australian National Maritime Museum is proud to host the Sydney closing night event of CTM14. Join us for drinks and entertainment as the sun sets over the western city skyline and enjoy truly unique views of the museum’s fleet of beautifully restored historic vessels, Captain Cook’s HMB Endeavor replica and the Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse.

The evening will commence with an Indigenous smoking ceremony and welcome to country followed by traditional dance performances by the Jannawi Dance Clan accompanied by didgeridoo player and song man. The name Jannawi means ‘with you, with me’ in the Darug language of NSW.

On display will be a traditional Indigenous canoe or ‘Nawi’ which has been jointly built by maritime museum staff and Indigenous craftspeople. Delegates will have the chance to talk with canoe builders about this traditional form of boat building rarely seen on public display.

Guests will also enjoy music from and a local DJ and a selection of Australian beer and wine as well as an exciting array of fresh local canapes.

Dates, times and programme may be subject to change
