- The Mirror and the Mask: The Portrait in the Age of Picasso 2007
6 February – 20 May 2007
Through works by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Salvador Dalí, Francis Bacon and Andy Warhol, The Mirror and the Mask examined the evolution of portraiture in the 20th century. We were selected to carry out an international PR campaign for the show. We generated coverage across the European media, from Wall Street Journal Europe and the International Herald Tribune to l’Oeil, Paris Match and Radio France. The exhibition was first shown at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemmisza and the Fundación Caja Madrid. It then travelled to the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth (Texas), which co-curated the show alongside the two other institutions. The Mirror and the Mask was the first in-depth study of this traditional genre within European painting, which acquired new importance within international art in the modern era.
